HAGA was established in August 2008. The association's purpose is to serve the community by donating time and resources to promote unity and good faith through the great game of golf. This includes organizing and participating in numerous golf tournaments in order to provide charitable contributions to those entities in need of financial assistance within the community. Since its inception, the association has made numerous donations to charity, with a mission of continously making our community a better place. Additionally, HAGA's goal is to promote and foster, among the members, a closer bond for their joint and mutual benefit, and to promote and conserve the best interests and true spirit of the game of golf as embodied in its ancient and honorable traditions. This also helps stimulate an interest in the great game of golf in the city of Tampa and its surrounding communities.
HAGA's logo contains two golf clubs symbolizing the unity of golf enthusiasts. A golf ball in the center signifies a common goal for all members to unite, enjoy the sport, and promote the game with the association’s three core values; Honesty, Integrity and Sportsmanship. Below the golf ball is a tee, which represents HAGA's solid foundation and commitment to assist the Tampa Bay community. The patch of grass represents an even terrain of equal opportunities for all members regardless of race, sex, religion or origin.
HAGA membership dues are a one time only initial $35 initiation fee, and a $60 per year membership fee, and can be individually submitted as charitable contributions for tax purposes. HAGA is a not for profit organization. All meetings, business, and correspondence are conducted in English.
